Library Technology Integration Project
Challenge: SJSU iSchool is creating a technology learning lab that will allow area libraries to borrow emerging technologies for their communities and foster learning opportunites using iSchool prepared curriculum. The LTI lab needs a website that effectively explains and advertises this offering to end users.
Solution: Create a website that is user focused, making main information priorities easily findable.
Involvement: As an iSchool UX intern, I collaborated in creating personas, digital wireframes and prototypes for this project. This was a short term project, and usability testing will take place during subsequent semesters. Paper and digital wireframes went through several iterations, receiving feedback from the LTI interns, UX interns, and the iSchool Director.
Personas
Wireframes
At first, we started wireframing using the current iSchool site layout. However, since the content is highly visual and the current site layout will be redesigned with top menu navigation, we opted for a more user friendly design using clickable images for the homepage and obvious call to action buttons. This way, even when the main website design is redone, this page will still function well within that framework as its own page.
We originally tried call to action buttons for the curriculum, that would led to pdf documents. However, we changed this to collapsible tabs, realizing that there was more information to be shared for each technology than just the curriculum.
