American Red Cross Donor site
Challenge: Create a subpage prototype for the American Red Cross website (CT/RI region) that communicates information to top level donors in a way that is easy to understand, and present final prototype to the CT/RI team.
Solution: Create a website focused on the user: social responsibility partners, supplying with their highest informtion priorities.
Involvement: Conducted an environmental scan for examples of sites with a similar purpose and evaluate the elements of each. Created personas to identify and understand the end users of the site and influence the design process. Met with the development to further identify the user and collected data through a Qualtrics survey aimed at identifying top user information prioriDeveloped digital wireframes to flesh out the design.
Technologies used: Figma, Qualtrics, Wix, Microsoft Teams, Red Cross Brand Central
End user:
Point of contact at company (corporate social responsibility partner, aka philanthropy)
-
Want to be aligned with a reputable nonprofit that won’t damage reputation
-
Want to see impact they are making
-
Want to promote partnership to show what they are doing in the community
-
Need to socially keep up with philanthropy because their peer companies are as well
Personas
Wireframes
I analyzed data from the survey and identified the users' most important information seeking needs. That combined with my research of the end users, the environmental scan, and ideation sketches informed the wireframes.

A note on design software: while I did build a prototype in Figma, I also built one in Wix. This is because the Development team I worked with found Figma slightly confusing. It was easier for them to conceptualize the site this way. It was my job to lead them through the design process, and make the workflow as easy as possible.
Since the top navigation stays consistent on regional pages, we used a different method of navigation, utilizing call to action buttons and a block layout.
